June 1st celebrates Say Something Nice Day and Dare Day.
When I looked up today’s date, this is what it said, so I had to try it out.
A brow wax walked into Wax It All and I said, “It’s nice to see you today. You just wanted a brow wax?”
“Yes please,” she replied.
With that, I said “I dare you to take off your pants and get a Brazilian Wax!”
She laughed and said, “No, Thank you! I’m not ready to go there yet.”
Well, I tried.
In 2012, I published a funny, non-fiction book called The Happy Hoo-Ha. I recently came across a review from last X-Mas that I hadn’t seen but LOVED! When you’re a beautician, it is the greatest feeling in the world to make others feel beautiful, whether we give you a new hair style, facial, pedicure, wax or whatever… But we think that it’s just as important to feel beautiful on the inside. During a yoga class this morning, I was reminded how important it is to not only love yourself but to spread love to others. With how crazy our world is, that simple statement of spreading love to others made me cry. So, for once, today’s post isn’t a funny one. It’s a reminder to spread some kindness and love to others on this beautiful day.

If you’re planning to go swimming, did you know that your body is more buoyant when it’s bald? (OK, maybe that isn’t based on science but it makes sense to me!)
We don’t have many appointments left so make your call before you get denied and have difficulty floating.
When someone yells ‘mother of pearl’ during a Brazilian Wax, it makes sense. The pearl represents our pleasure point hidden in the shell that has the ability to be a mother. It’s not the expression I would think to yell when I’m in pain, but I thoroughly enjoyed this PG version of a swear word.
Oh goodness, what is M.E. up to now? She bought a barcode and hired a graphic designer for her newest adventure…. Stay tuned for more details.
On another note, the weather looks like it is going to be nice this weekend, so if you need a wax, please don’t wait until Saturday or it may not happen.
