 In preparation for the upcoming holiday, if one of your  Memorial Day things to do is get your hair colored, cut or even ripped out by the root, your lashes lifted or extended, your face or bikini area exfoliated and masqued, your hands or toes primped & polished or even your brows waxed, colored or laminated, we will be here for you regular hours this week. Except….one employee is on maternity leave, another employee is on vacation and M.E. is only working for 2 hours on Saturday. Moral of the story,  make a plan ahead of time so we aren’t forced to say no to you!  Thank you!!!

So our biggest selling product at both salons is the FUR line, which is great for ingrown hairs in the  bikini area.  In fact, we just got a huge shipment delivered, because both salons had sold out. Tonight I was thinking about our inventory and it occurred to me that the name is kind of the opposite of what our salons are known for. We remove fur and yet we are selling a ton of a product by that very same name. When I looked up the word FUR in the Webster dictionary (yes, I’m a huge dictionary fan), it listed synonyms such as floss, fluff, fuzz, lint and nap. That had me LOL for quite some time. When you’ve been in the business as long as we have, everything has the potential to make us laugh!

Yesterday, I opened my Facebook page and saw in big red letters that my account was restricted. It was flagged because I wrote a story about a woman who wanted to check how thorough I was after I gave her a Brazilian Wax and she stood in front of our mirror in the same position as this little girl. There is so much ugly stuff on social media and Facebook has a problem with this?

 I love when the music corresponds to the Brazilian Waxing service. The song “Oh What A Night” came on and the client had been vocalizing the word “oh” several times. As I was finishing, the song was ending and the client said “Tonight I’m going to be saying Oh What A Night!!!”  I love being a part of that.

 When we remove a wax strip from your body, there shouldn’t be a loud noise associated with the action. However, when we pull off a strip and it sounds like someone is biting into an apple, then we know you aren’t properly hydrated. When the weather is warmer, you need to be more conscientious of how much water you consume before your waxing service. It’s okay to taste an apple, just not sound like one.
