A woman hadn’t gotten waxed by me since January. She had been trimming the entire time, which made her hair incredibly dense and coarse. As I dug in my heels and used all my strength to get the hair across the front of her lower belly off, I realized she had a tattoo. I couldn’t see it through the hair. I said, “Holy Cow, I found your tattoo!” She thought it was funny. I thought it was frightening.

Mark and M.E. Salon is located in a 3 story, 1902 farmhouse on Mount Hope Ave in Rochester. All of the hair, nail, makeup, microblading and lash services occur on the first floor. There are 2 wax rooms on the 2nd floor that I personally use and there are 2 wax rooms and a facial room on the 3rd floor that my staff uses. Our mission is to make waxing fun. Yes, fun. Yesterday, I heard so much laughter coming through the vents from the 3rd floor that I wish I would have recorded it for everyone to hear. It made my day!
It takes quite a bit of strength to remove hair sometimes. Mark and M.E. has some of the strongest women in town ready and willing to use their muscles on you. If you get waxed more regularly, however, we don’t need to play the hulk on your hoo-ha or any other body part, for that matter.

If you’ve been outside today, it is absolutely beautiful out. Since summer is still happening in Rochester, New York, I have to share my brilliant idea. I have had the most eclectic array of business cards over the years. A client came in today who hadn’t been waxed since February. She started shaving again. After months of ingrown hairs, rashes, and stubble, she realized she couldn’t handle the pain that accompanied shaving her bikini area. She told me that after she would shave, everything felt like a cactus down there. I don’t know why anyone would want a cactus between his or her legs.
Gotta love when a client thanks you for making her smooth as a baby’s bottom! Just another reason why everyone should get a Brazilian Bikini Wax at Mark and M.E.
When our daughter went to get waxed in Denver, she asked the technician to wax her happy trail. The woman said it was an additional $17 charge. I think it looks silly to give a woman a Brazilian and leave a strip of hair from the belly button to the top of the bikini area. At Mark and M.E. we never charge extra for that small strip. They should be ashamed of themselves!
