There was an incident at Mark & M.E. the other day that I need to share. A woman and mother of four, who has been getting waxed by me for several years, showed up very late to an appointment with one of our employees while I was out of town. She has been shady when leaving a credit card with us. And when she has given one to us in the past, it always ends up being bogus and gets declined when she doesn’t show for her appointment and we try to charge the card. Since I was out of town, the newer staff didn’t know this girl’s history and made an appointment for a last minute wax without checking her profile. When she was done with the wax, she told our staff that she left her money in the car. She proceeded to not only take off without paying, she stole some very expensive products from us.
This whole incident is very disheartening. Our staff works on commission so our employee basically did the service for free. We have been very patient with this woman’s antics in the past and cannot believe she stole from us. I guess that’s what we get for being nice to people and giving them the benefit of the doubt. Trust me, this is the last time we will ever allow this woman into any of our salons.

Some people get excited about “No Shave November.” Since I remove hair for a living and am all about the “bald is beautiful” look, it has never been my favorite trend. (although it’s fun to remove the huge amount of hair clients bring to me December 1st!😁) But then I had a client who left all the hair on her entire body grow out. She likes to refer to this time as “No Shave Winter.”
As you all know, we have serious plumbing problems at Wax It All because tampons are clogging our pipes. A few days ago, I threatened to raise the prices of Brazilians because we have spent thousands for plumbers. After that initial post, a client sent me a message that suggested it would be more cost effective to do DNA on the tampons rather than pay the plumbers. Not a bad idea!
A client who I hadn’t seen in awhile told me she brought me the Black Forest to her waxing appointment. She was fairly accurate. Fortunately, after her deforestation was complete, it wasn’t so dark and spooky anymore.
